John Galvan

OWNER | CLUB DIRECTOR | HEAD COACH

John Galvan is the Club Director and Owner of West Edge Volleyball Club. A former collegiate outside hitter, he competed with California State University, Northridge’s men’s club team—one of the top collegiate club programs in the country—helping lead them to a national runner-up finish at the 2022 NCVF National Championship.

John now coaches across multiple levels, currently serving as head coach and advisor for CSUN’s top men’s club team and leading the girls varsity program at El Camino Real Charter High School. He’s helped guide CSUN to multiple national medals, including a Gold at the 2024 NCVF Nationals, while building teams centered on trust, accountability, and competitive drive.

He holds two Bachelor’s Degrees in Finance and Business Administration, along with a minor in Information Systems, and previously worked in professional services at a top global accounting firm. That experience has shaped his structured, strategic approach to leading a high-performance volleyball training program.

In July 2025, John stepped into leadership at West Edge Volleyball Club with deep respect for the program’s legacy. Originally founded in 2014, West Edge has long been a trusted home for athlete development and competitive volleyball. John’s vision is to honor that foundation while elevating the club through high-level training, intentional culture, and a long-term approach to growth. Under his leadership, West Edge continues to evolve into a place where athletes are challenged to compete, supported as individuals, and inspired to love the game for life.

taytum reckleff

HEAD COACH

Taytum Reckleff brings over a decade of coaching experience at both the club and high school levels. From 2015 to 2025, she served as Assistant Club Director and Head Coach at a well-established Southern California volleyball club, where she played a key role in operations and led more than a dozen teams throughout her tenure. Her passion for athlete development and ability to cultivate strong team culture made her a consistent presence in the Southern California volleyball community.

At the high school level, Taytum will begin her first season with El Camino Real Charter High School in Fall 2025. She previously held coaching roles at Calabasas High School (2024), Bishop Alemany (2023), Taft Charter High School (2018–2023), and SOCES (2015–2018). During this time, her teams consistently competed at the highest level in the CIF LA City Section. Notable achievements include winning the CIF LA City Section Championship in Girls Beach Volleyball in both 2022 and 2023, as well as multiple runner-up finishes in both indoor and boys’ volleyball. Her coaching excellence has earned her several honors, including CIF LA City Section Coach of the Year in 2018 for Boys Volleyball, the 2023 NFHS California State Coach of the Year for Girls Beach Volleyball, and the CIF LA City Section CCA Coach of the Year in 2023 as an assistant for Girls Volleyball.
